My Why

Our story began in a kitchen, born from love, necessity, and a sister’s faith. In 2012, my sister Ramira was struggling with severe dandruff, a condition that stopped her from achieving her dream of growing locs.

Out of desperation and inspired by her belief in my ability to help, I began mixing natural oils at home. The result? A powerful, healing oil that cleared her scalp, encouraged healthy hair growth, and gave her the freedom to begin her loc journey with pride.

That oil didn’t just heal her scalp—it planted the seed for what would become Mona Nissi Skin & Hair Care.

With my father’s blessing and Ramira’s encouragement, we turned a homemade remedy into a growing line of holistic, plant-based products. Together, we dreamed of sharing our creations with the world—products that nourish, heal, and celebrate the beauty of natural hair and skin.

But on October 27, 2023, tragedy struck. Ramira and her daughter—my beloved niece—were killed in a devastating car accident. I was shattered. My heart broke. I questioned everything and nearly walked away from the very dream we built together. But in my darkest moments, I could hear her voice. “Keep going. Someone out there needs this.” Her spirit reminded me of our mission: to help others reclaim their beauty and confidence through natural, intentional care. Ramira Shalom Rogers is my WHY.
